Charity
AQHA Rebels Misting Dawn (aka Charity)
Foaled: May 19, 1984
A few words from Charity's owner, Darla Curtis:
The first time I laid eyes on her it brought tears to my eyes. She was barely Three. The girl was riding her English and my first thought was, there is my black beauty, I knew I had to have her before I even got on her. Little did I know at the time she would be more than just a horse to me. She is much much more, and only a true horse woman would understand the bond that we share.
Early on I had her in training, I took lessons and showed her English. Also early on I decided I didn't want to be showing and turned to just enjoying riding her and being with her. We have taken care of each other. Many time I have had problems that I would cry on her shoulder. She took care of my needs. Then there were the times she has needed me, and I took care of her needs. I have been through a bad founder case with her when she was eighteen, and by the grace of God she healed, and is sound. We moved to Ohio from California over three years ago, and she along with her little friend Faith, traveled the over 2,000 mile trip together. Now Charity is twenty seven, and yes, we are dealing with the problems that come with old age, both equine and human, but we are handling it, one day at a time. Still beautiful with her shiny black coat, a few added gray hairs, but still a beautiful sight. I have people tell me, including vets that she doesn't look her age. I take that as a compliment to the way I have always tried to take care of her. She is truly an equine friend that comes along once in a life time. All my past horses I have had through out my like rolled up in one beautiful, loving package. How did I name her? Easy. Faith... Hope.... and Love.... and the greatest of these is Love.
Charity is a traditional scale Quarterhorse mare available in resin. You may choose both an English version (braided mane and tail) or a Western version (short pulled show mane and loose tail).
